Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 9, 2026
Consilium is a consultation service that takes your situation seriously. That includes how we handle the information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how it's used.
What We Collect
When you submit an intake form, you provide the following:
- A description of your situation or dilemma
- The domain your situation falls under (career, relationships, ethics, and so on)
- What you've already tried or considered
- What outcome or aspect of the situation concerns you most
- Your preference for how perspective is delivered
- Any specific thinkers you'd like included
- Additional context you choose to share
When you complete payment, Stripe collects your email address and payment details. We receive your email from Stripe so we can deliver your brief. We do not receive or store your card number or billing information.
How Your Information Is Processed
When you submit your intake form, your responses are stored securely on our infrastructure (hosted by Cloudflare) under your consultation reference number, and a copy is delivered to the Consilium team by email via Web3Forms. We read your responses to understand your situation and prepare your brief. No automated system reads, scores, or makes decisions about your submission. A human reviews it.
Payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not process or store your payment information. Stripe's privacy policy governs how your payment data is handled.
Your brief is produced manually and delivered to the email you provided at checkout.
Data Storage and Retention
Intake records stored on our infrastructure are automatically deleted after 7 days if no consultation is completed, and after 90 days for completed consultations. Copies received by email are retained by the Consilium team for fulfillment purposes, and we may keep a record of completed consultations to improve the service over time. If you'd like your information removed sooner, email us at hello@yourconsilium.com and we'll delete it.
If you complete a consultation, we keep your name and email address as a customer record and may occasionally use them to tell you about Consilium updates or new offerings. Every such email includes an unsubscribe link, and opting out takes effect immediately. We never use the content of your consultation for marketing.
We do not build profiles, sell data, or share your information with third parties outside of what's described in this policy.
Cookies, Analytics, and Local Storage
We use Google Analytics (delivered via Google Tag Manager) to understand how visitors use the site: which pages are read, how people move through the consultation form, and where they arrive from. Google Analytics sets cookies for this purpose. We do not use advertising cookies, and analytics data is not used to build advertising profiles.
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, analytics cookies are disabled by default: Google Analytics runs in a cookieless mode that sends only anonymous, aggregated signals.
Separately, we use localStorage on your device for three things: remembering your theme preference (light or dark mode), saving an in-progress consultation draft so you don't lose your writing if you leave the page (drafts are automatically removed after 7 days), and keeping your consultation reference number so we can show it to you after checkout. All of this stays on your device and is never transmitted to us until you choose to submit your consultation.
Third-Party Services
Running this service requires a small number of third-party tools. Here's what each one does:
- Stripe handles payment processing. Your card details go to Stripe directly and never pass through our systems. See stripe.com/privacy.
- Web3Forms receives your intake form submission and routes it to us by email. See web3forms.com/privacy.
- Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager provides anonymous usage statistics as described in the cookies section above. See policies.google.com/privacy.
- Resend delivers our transactional emails, such as your order confirmation. It processes your email address and name for that purpose. See resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces used on this site. Google may log the request. See policies.google.com/privacy.
- Cloudflare hosts and serves this site and stores intake records as described above. Cloudflare processes traffic at the network level. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Children's Privacy
Consilium is not directed at anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
Changes to This Policy
If we make meaningful changes to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and revise the date at the top. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
