Terms of Service
Last updated: June 30, 2026
These terms govern your use of Consilium. By submitting a consultation and completing payment, you agree to them. They're written to be readable, not to bury things.
What the Service Is
Consilium is a paid consultation service. You submit a description of your situation via an intake form. The Consilium team selects five historical thinkers whose perspectives are most relevant to your dilemma, then writes a structured brief showing how each thinker would approach it, where they agree, and where they diverge.
The brief is delivered as a PDF to the email you provide at checkout, within 48 hours of your submission.
What You Receive
Each consultation includes:
- A structured PDF brief from five thinkers matched to your situation
- Individual perspectives from each thinker, written in their voice and framed around your specific question
- A synthesis section identifying where they converge and where they diverge
- Delivered within 48 hours to your checkout email
The 48-hour window applies to standard submissions. If your submission is unclear or requires clarification, we may reach out before proceeding, which could affect timing.
What This Is Not
Consilium is a structured thinking service. It is not therapy. It is not legal advice, medical advice, or financial advice. The perspectives in your brief come from historical thinkers interpreted by the Consilium team. They are not the views of licensed professionals in any field.
If your situation requires professional judgment, please consult a licensed therapist, attorney, physician, or financial advisor. Consilium is a complement to clear thinking, not a substitute for professional help.
Nothing in your brief should be treated as a directive. The value is in the perspectives and the framework, not in being told what to do.
Refunds
Each brief is custom work produced specifically for your situation, so all sales are generally final. If your brief is not delivered within the promised window, you are entitled to a full refund.
If you believe there is a genuine problem with the quality of your brief, email us at hello@yourconsilium.com within 7 days of delivery and describe the issue. Refunds in these cases are issued at our discretion. Requests made after 7 days will not be considered.
Intellectual Property
The brief we deliver to you is yours to keep. You can read it, share it, print it, and refer back to it as you see fit.
Consilium retains the right to use anonymized, de-identified examples from completed consultations for the purpose of demonstrating the service, training, or improving quality. No personally identifying information will be shared or published.
The Consilium name, wordmark, and site design remain the property of Consilium.
Limitation of Liability
Consilium is provided as-is. We make no guarantees about outcomes resulting from the perspectives in your brief. To the extent permitted by law, Consilium's liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for the consultation in question.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. If we make changes that materially affect your rights, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
